George Perry (born April 12, 1953 in Lompoc, California) is a neuroscientist recognized in the field of Alzheimer's disease research particularly for his work in oxidative stress. Dr. Perry has studied at many universities and holds multiple degrees including a Bachelor of Arts degree in Zoology from the University of California Santa Barbara and a PhD in Marine Biology from the University of California at San Diego. He is distinguished as one of the top Alzheimer’s disease researchers with over 1000 publications, more than 60,000 citations, one of the top 100 most-cited scientists in Neuroscience & Behavior and one of the top 25 scientists in free radical research. Dr. Perry is a Semmes Foundation Distinguished chair in Neurobiology and is an active participant in many other scientific associations. In addition, Perry is an Editor of numerous scientific journals including Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease which he founded in 1998. Today, Perry continues his love for research while working as Dean of the College of Sciences at The University of Texas at San Antonio.

Dr. AlKherayf is an Associate Professor and a Neurosurgeon at University of Ottawa. He is also a neuroscientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI) with a cross appointment to the Clinical Epidemiology Program. He is the Director of the Clinical Research Program at the Division of Neurosurgery at the Ottawa Hospital, and the Director of Spine Fellowship Program at University of Ottawa. After graduating from medical school he completed his neurosurgery training at University of Ottawa in 2010. He also completed two fellowships in complex spine surgery and minimally invasive skull base surgery. Additionally, he has training in clinical epidemiology and biostatistics (MSc, Epidemiology and Biostatistics 2011) and has completed the Clinician Investigator Program certified by the Royall College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC). Dr. AlKherayf’s clinical practice is focused on complex spine surgery, minimally invasive cranial surgery and complex cranio-cervical reconstruction. His clinical research interests lie on translational primary brain tumor research, clinical trials, and spinal cord injury. He has authored and co-authored many research papers and abstracts, and spoken at many international conferences. Dr. AlKherayf has special interest in neurosurgery and spine education by directing many training courses. He also has been serving as an editorial board member of many journals.

Steven Wagner earned his MS and PhD degrees in biochemistry from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and did post-doctoral training in microbiology and molecular genetics and UC Irvine College of Medicine. He then served as Director of Biochemistry at the Salk institute Biotechnology/Industrial Associates, Inc., followed by a position as Chief Scientific Officer at Neurogenetics, Inc./TorreyPines Therapeutics, Inc. In 2009 he joined UC San Diego's Department of Neurosciences, where he currently is an associate professor and principal investigator. Dr. Wagner's research focuses on the discovery, design and preclinical development of therapeutic small molecules known as gamma-secretase modulators (GSaMs). These drug-like small molecules are aimed at preventing and/or delaying the buildup of specific neuropathological lesions known as neuritic plaques that are invariably abundant in the brains of both patients with Down syndrome and Alzheimer's disease.

Professor Cho is an early pioneer of CT and PET, developing world’s first circular ring PET (at UCLA, 1975) and BGO (PET-detector, 1976) and more recently 7.0T MRI+PET Fusion Brain Imaging System at NRI, in Korea. Currently Professor Cho is serving as a Distinguished Research Fellow at Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, and also as a member of National Academy of Medicine, Washington D.C. USA.

Dr. Uthman, who received his M.D. from the American University of Beirut, has been a faculty member at Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar (WCMC-Q) since 2008. Prior to joining WCMC-Q, Dr. Uthman served as faculty member at the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida, Departments of Neurology, since 1991 and Neuroscience since 1996. Dr. Uthman has taught medical and graduate courses in neurology, epilepsy and electroencephalography (EEG).

Dr. Uthman’s research interests include clinical studies in the treatment of epilepsy, pharmacokinetics of antiepileptic drugs, seizures in the elderly, treatment of acute seizure disorders and status epilepticus and neurostimulation for treatment of epilepsy.
