Alzheimer’s disease

Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive neurological disorder that affects memory, thinking, and behavior. It is the most common cause of dementia, leading to the gradual decline of cognitive functions. The disease is characterized by the buildup of abnormal protein deposits (amyloid plaques and tau tangles) in the brain, which damage nerve cells and impair communication between them. Symptoms include memory loss, confusion, difficulty in problem-solving, mood changes, and language difficulties. While there is no cure, treatments can help manage symptoms and slow progression. Alzheimer’s primarily affects older adults, though early-onset cases can occur.
